Blame It On The Moon

Dan Reed Network

Some young strappin' boy stepped on her little halo & filled her up with joy.
Six weeks later she got the news, the child was carrying a child, It gave her mama the blues.

& she said, Why oh lord oh why me?
What have I done for you to foresake me?
Why oh lord oh why me?
Whatever you do, don't blame it on me.

Baby come too soon, blame it on the moon.
Baby come too fast, blame it on the past.
Who needs love, when it feels so good?
Baby come to soon, blame it on the moon.

"This won't hurt much" he lied. The tears ran down her soul.
That night her innocence cried.
Starin' down the barrel of a selfish man who loved her just once & had a sudden change of plans.

(You would never do anything to hurt me would you?)
(Why would I wanna hurt you? I only wanna make you feel good.)

Baby come too soon, blame it on the moon.
Baby come too fast, blame it on the past.
Who needs love, when it feels so good?
Baby come to soon, blame it on the moon.
Baby come too fast, blame it on the past.
Who needs love, when it feels so good?
Baby come to soon, blame it on you know who.
