The Pious Man

Weltenbrand

In the seclusion of the forests a strange man without name, was rumoured to be living there, baring enormous strength.

While sundays came and sundays went, the citizens did never see this strange man visiting their church.
So they gave report to the priest.

Immediately he did send for the strongest men that he could find to bring down the nameless man for the wigging about his pagan life.

However - much to their surprise - the man said simply: Yes!, followed them to the village priest and to the service without protest.
When afterwards the priest implored: How did you like it man?

It was beautiful, he said, yet something I don't understand. That little boy, you held up high, tell me why did he bleed?

When hearing this, the priest did almost choke on his own speech.

My goodness, this man's close to god, because what he did see, has been the living saviour. No one - including me - did ever see this greatest of all miracles in here.

Later the priest was neeling down to the sound of the midday bell. Come join me in my prayer! he said to the nameless man.

I shall pray, but not before the true bells will start their chime.
After a while, folding his hand he did arise to say:

Now the bells ring devotedly!
The mand started to pray.

Listeningly the priest lifted his head, but heard no sound.

The nameless man gave him a sign, to lift the left foot of the ground. The priest obeyed.
This miracle did almost blow his mind.

It was the most beautiful sound, he ever heard in his whole life. After all this our priest turned towards the man and softly said:

Go back to your seclusion, man, and live the life you've left. The nameless one received the blessings and as he returned, the priest said to himself:

This truly is a pious man!
