Miss Everything

Larissa Lam

I always thought that one day I could be happy
Don't mean to be sappy
When I found my one true love
But then I thought it'd be fun to make lots of money
I'm not trying to be funny
That's what I was dreamin' of
A chauffeur for my fancy car
The office on the 30th floor
But these don't come satisfaction guaranteed...
It will leave you always wanting more
I'm no longer Miss ‘Give me everything'
Now I'm just thankful for what's been given to me
My identity is not in any person, place or thing
If I'm true to who I am I'll be Miss Everything
I once had a map of where I'd be heading
Awards I'd be getting
It occupied my mind
I worried ‘bout the people I should be topping
No time to be stopping
Or else I'd fall behind
A millionaire by seventeen
A library named after me
Things I thought were significant before
Things that I don't really need
Bridge:
I thank God for all I have
And it's often never said
The things to be treasured cannot be measured
But are countless instead
