Your Not Taken?

Leslie Hall

I need some eye contact,
Or a gentle impact,
Where our bodies embrace
In a slow dance formation.
I got a hunch you like lunch or fruit punch,
We could do both- or none.

I'm just saying that I'm fun
And I'm here, but you got
Lots of choices and you made that clear

But if you tap into the part of your brain that said maybe,
Today's the day that I meet a nice lady
Risky as you've got a lot to give,
But worthy 'cause we got a lot to live.

Somebody tell me,
Why you're not taken,
'Cause I love what you're doing,
And I love how you shake it

You just ease into that hip snap.
And you glide into a quick clap

I can't explain, should I refrain,
From cutting in and creeping closer,
It's just I feel that we could deal
With this much quicker if we gazed
Into each others' eyes, You seem surprised,
Just say OK or go away
But I think we're worth the risk,
If you agree just gimme this.

Just access the part of your brain that says maybe,
Today's the day that I meet a nice lady.
Risky as you've got a lot to give,
But worthy as we got a lot to live.
Somebody tell me,
Why you're not taken,
'Cause I love what you're moving,
And I love how you shake it

You just ease into that hip snap.
And you glide into a quick clap

I'm positive you're a pessimist,
But I could be wrong on that.
Either way I wouldn't change my feelings,
Unless you hated my cat.

You got me tied up and tangled,
Twisted in knots,
Everything you could be
But everything we're not

You're so nice, I'm amazed,
Let's cook a stew and have lazy days.

So
Find the part of your brain that said maybe,
Today's the day that I meet a nice lady

Somebody tell me,
Why you're not taken,
'Cause I love what you're moving,
And I love how you shake it

You just ease into that hip snap.
And you glide into a quick clap
